 When talking about the BEST equipment for podcasting, many people will think that the most expensive gear is the best, but that's not always the case. What kind of show are you producing? Are you a solo podcaster? Are you recording remote guests? Will you use a DAW or record to an SD card? These are all questions to consider. I believe the best equipment is the kind that gets the job done. It's what you're using or will use that helps you create a consistent and high-quality podcast. With that being said, here's what I have used, and highly recommend. Top Three Podcast Microphones
Yes, I actually own each one of the microphones, and multiples of a few of them. Our podcast table has mics for four people to be on our show - two cohosts and two guest if we're at full capacity. For that setup, we have two Rode Procaster XLR mics, one Rode Podmic and one Sennheiser e835. Sure we have to work on getting vocals to sound similar in post production, but it's not enough to cause us not to podcast with that setup. We used to use four Sennheiser e835 microphones at the table, but we eventually upgraded. Top Three Mixers/Interfaces FOR PODCASTING
The reason I've used these mixers and interfaces is because of their ability to take up to four XLR inputs. The mixers and interfaces you choose should be chosen based on how many people you are wanting to have on your podcast, and whether or not you're having remote guests, playing music or other clips into your podcast, and other applications requiring additional inputs. Also, each one of these listed also record to a DAW (digital audio workstation) through a USB cable, which is sometimes the preferred method for podcasters.
